Key Leadership Programmes in 2024
The Global People Development team at De Heus is committed to keeping employees connected and informed about the organization's Learning & Development initiatives. Over the past three quarters, several key leadership programmes have been implemented to enhance skills and foster professional growth within the company. Below is a summary of the major initiatives launched during this period.
Management Excellence Programme (MEP)
In October 2024, De Heus concluded the second immersive week of the Management Excellence Programme (MEP) for both cohorts in the Netherlands. This marked the culmination of an intensive and comprehensive learning journey.
As part of this programme, De Heus, in collaboration with Better Future, hosted a unique co-creation day. Senior management, including several prominent figures, engaged in discussions on seven strategic topics, facilitating open and productive dialogues with participants through multiple interactive rounds.
I felt great energy throughout the event. I presented a video on the ‘founder mentality,’ which struck a chord with participants. I also discussed our strategic focus and the role MEP members can play, sparking an engaging Q&A session. I encouraged participants to connect with colleagues across departments—an excellent way to build relationships and gain a deeper understanding of our company. The day’s co-creation format, with workshops and discussions, energized the programme and fostered creativity and innovation.
The MEP once again provided a dynamic platform for global participants to learn from experienced business leaders, share best practices, and interact on a multitude of topics. It was a privilege to be part of this programme, sharing my career experiences and lessons learned. Congratulations to all participants, and I look forward to seeing many more cohorts in the future.
Management essentials online programme
The pilot phase of the Management Essentials Online Programme concluded on October 23rd after five months of development. This initial phase involved nine participants and received overwhelmingly positive feedback, with all participants rating the experience favorably.
A participant shared their takeaway:
"I have learned the importance of reflection before action. In my role, it's crucial to maintain a broader vision, prioritize effectively, and stay focused on team management and objectives."
A thorough evaluation is planned to identify areas for improvement, but the early results indicate strong potential for future cohorts.
Next Generation professionals online programme
On October 2, 2024, De Heus launched the first iteration of the Next Generation Professionals Online Programme. This initiative aims to develop the personal, professional, and organizational skills of emerging young professionals. The inaugural group includes six participants from diverse regions—Serbia, Spain, South Africa, Jordan, Uganda, and Ivory Coast—embarking on a structured journey of professional growth.
This program represents a key step in nurturing future leaders within De Heus, emphasizing a commitment to global development and knowledge sharing.
