Trainee Swine Nutrition

What are your responsibilities as Trainee?

As a trainee, you follow a two-year program in which you get to know several departments within De Heus. In modules of 3 to 6 months you will work on in-depth activities in animal nutrition, research & development, international product management, formulations, market analysis and project management. Next to technical content we also support your personal and professional development throughout these two years.

The content of this traineeship aims to prepare you for a position within the Global Swine department.

During the traineeship you will combine the knowledge you acquired at the university with practical working experience. This will give you more in-depth understanding of swine nutrition and insight in the different swine markets where De Heus is active. You will gain skills in formulating recipes, market analysis, product management and the production processes in the animal feed industry.

Together we monitor your development during these two years. You will finish your traineeship at the end of the two years with a specific assignment as a preparation for your next job within De Heus.

What do we expect from you?

The traineeship is intended for ambitious candidates with a strong affinity for swine husbandry who would like to explore the world of swine nutrition. Besides your master’s degree, you have very good analytical skills to structure and solve complex nutritional questions, have a pro-active way of working and are eager to learn. You will maintain and expand your professional network of contacts in a natural way. Affection for numbers, commercial feeling and good communication skills combined with practical experience in swine farming are considered as an advantage. You need to be fluent in English, both spoken and written.
