Aisha Senya - Quality Manager
Aisha has a background in Food Technology and has been working in the food supply chain in Ghana for over 15 years. She joined De Heus Ghana in October 2019 as Quality Manager. After working for her previous employer for more than 11 years, she was keen to climb the quality ladder. This was when she signed up to work with Koudijs. “My young family had become slightly more independent. And for me it was the right time to grow my ambitions. Since the company was new in Ghana, I wanted to be part of its success story.”
Greenfield project
Koudijs Ghana is a greenfield project and the factory is nearly ready to open for production. Aisha is currently working on putting the right quality system in place. “When we embark on feed production, my role is to ensure the quality of the finished products. For now, a typical day involves making sure that we are applying for regulatory certifications, following up on procedures and getting the required documents together.”
One call away
Aisha is excited to join the company at this stage. Last February she visited the head office in Ede, the Netherlands. During this visit, she met all the colleagues involved in quality. “Everyone is so friendly and willing to help and guide you. Knowing your colleagues makes the work so much easier if you have any challenges. They are just one call away.”
Quality in a global perspective
“Working for a global company has many advantages. Working with different cultures makes me very open-minded and gives me an understanding of other ways of doing things. It makes me see quality in a bigger perspective. I have a lot of responsibilities in terms of the product and my main task is to not compromise on the quality. Koudijs is improving the performance and raising the standards for animal feed in Ghana. The farmer will measure quality from the performance of his animals. This is where I can eventually make an impact on farmers’ lives.’
People make it fun
“What makes working in Koudijs so much fun is the people! We have a great team here in Ghana with an open environment where you can share ideas freely and make suggestions. I am proud of a great team and what we achieved so far. Hopefully once we grow bigger, that feeling will also grow!”
