Koudijs starts building a compound animal feed factory in Ghana
On February 6th Koudijs Ghana celebrated the start of the development of its first compound animal feed factory in Ghana and in West Africa. Koudijs further enhanced its ambitions to strengthen its position in Ghana with this ultra-modern new production facility. Located on a 500 acre-site in Tema, near Accra, the new factory will be one of the largest compound feed production plants in Ghana, with a production capacity reaching 90,000 tons a year.

Announcement De Heus – Rabobank contract
In the presence of Dutch Minister of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality Carola Schouten, Rabobank India and De Heus India signed a contract on the 25th of May 2018. With this contract Rabobank supports De Heus India with expanding their business in India. The funding allows De Heus India to further improve the De Heus production processes and quality controls with the joined aim to help farmers improve the quality of products they produce as well as increasing their income.

De Heus underlines growth in Myanmar by opening second production site
On 29 May 2018 De Heus Myanmar proudly celebrated the opening of its second production site in Myanmar. This modern production facility will enable De Heus to strengthen its market position and help professionalise agriculture in the region. Located on 26,000 square metres near Mandalay, the factory has an annual production capacity of 280,000 MT and is regarded as the most sustainable feed production site in Myanmar.

June 2020 De Heus Animal Nutrition continued its growth in the north of Spain with the acquisition of Piensos Muga. Susana Arrojo González has been working as a HR Director for De Heus Spain since December 2017. She played an important role in smoothing the merger of both companies into one integrated company with a strong and unique De Heus culture.

How sourcing raw materials locally can improve the lives of rural farmers in Ghana
To achieve a sustainable supply chain and foster communities, De Heus Ghana's ambition is to purchase at least 50% of its raw materials from local sources by 2025. In this way, the company can improve the whole supply chain along with the economic position of local farmers. This requires the local business unit to collaborate with strong partners who share De Heus' values.
